The L4 Series RS232 Laser Distance Sensors utilize phase-shift measurement technology, one of the most accurate methods for short- and medium-range laser ranging. By continuously modulating the laser beam and analyzing the phase difference between transmitted and reflected signals, the sensor calculates distance with high precision and excellent repeatability.

Unlike potting-filled models, the L4 series features a standard industrial structure, making it suitable for clean, stable, and controlled environments where extreme vibration or moisture protection is not required. This design provides a balance between performance, cost, and integration flexibility.

With an RS232 interface, the L4 sensors support stable communication with PLCs, industrial PCs, and embedded controllers. The L4-40 is ideal for compact installations and short-range control, while the L4-80 supports extended measurement distances when used with reflective targets.
